ESO Beta Key and 28-DCD Days 25-28

Bethesda loves me. They’re having another beta weekend, one I can actually participate in, and they gave me extra keys for the hubby and the munchkins. I can’t wait!

I missed yesterday for the 28-DCD, so I decided to just go ahead and finish up the last four days today so I don’t forget again. I’ve really enjoyed doing this, and I hope you guys have enjoyed it too. Here are the final entries for Coranil and Kaaley.

28-DCD Days 19 and 20

Day 19: What would someone have to do to become friends with your character?  To become enemies?

Coranil: As a merchant, Coranil tries to be friendly, but he doesn’t trust easily. There are only a handful of people he would actually call friends, and to become friends with him, someone would have to gain his trust over time. To become an enemy, they would have to harm or intend to harm him and/or those he cares about, including the High King. All Thalmor are enemies by default, of course, as is anyone still supporting the Empire in Skyrim.

Kaaley: Kaaley is of the same mind as Coranil about the Thalmor and the Empire. While she also doesn’t trust easily, she does make friends more easily and pretty much likes everyone instantly except for the aforementioned Thalmor and Altmer in general. Betrayal of her and her loved ones will make her an enemy, at which point she will delight in making their lives as miserable as possible.

Day 20: What happens in Riften, stays in Riften. (What actions has your character taken that he regrets or questions? Does he have any justification for them, and if so, what?)

Coranil: Um, ex-Thalmor. Nuff said.

Kaaley: The only real regret Kaaley has is the decision that killed Rilynn. They broke into the lab of an Altmer, who turned out to be a Thalmor mage. Kaaley hadn’t known, of course, but she’d had a bad feeling about it and went anyway, insisting that Rilynn come with her. They were captured, and the mage tortured and killed Rilynn in an experiment to see how a broken spiritual bond between mates would manifest itself if one of the mates wasn’t Bosmer. Kaaley gave him extensive, painful schooling on just how the surviving mate would react; but if course, it didn’t bring Rilynn back, and she blames herself for dragging him along on the job.

Dragonborn: The Legacy 20 – Second Thoughts

Chapter 20 - Palace of the Kings5E 20, 31 Second Seed

Standing in the great hall of the Palace of the Kings with Rowan and Ben, Dolff gaped at his father in shock. Ulfric had aged fifteen years, practically overnight. His hair, which had been silvery and shiny, was now a dull, creamy white. His skin was ashen and grayish, and the lines and age spots on his face were much more pronounced. He had lost weight, and his flesh seemed hang off his bones. Even his eyes, which had always glimmered with spirit and intelligence, were milky and dim, peering back as if he didn’t recognize him. The Jagged Crown didn’t so much rest on his head as grip it in a stranglehold.

28-DCD Days 17 and 18

Day 17: What is your character’s spirit animal and why (don’t limit yourself to Skyrim animals if you don’t want to)?
: The moth or butterfly, because he understands what it’s like to undergo a life-changing transformation.

Kaaley: The fox, which is sneaky, cunning, and cute, like her.

Day 18: TARDIS: What time period would your character have liked to have lived in, what events witnessed (for information go the Imperial Library, UESP)

I’m not answering this one because it’s too hard and I’m lazy.

28-DCD Days 13 and 14

Day 13: Weaknesses, vices, and/or bad habits

Coranil: Occasionally, the “superiorly bred mer” rises to the surface and Coranil forgets the humility he has learned over the years. He has recently learned that apparently, he has a weakness for certain baby-faced females who bat their eyes at him.

Sweet RollKaaley: Kaaley is a kleptomaniac. She also doesn’t like authority, a notable exception being Ulfric Stormcloak. Her smart mouth has gotten her into trouble in the past, even with the High King. Her dietary habits are odd for a Bosmer, who are mostly carnivorous. She has a sweet tooth and loves nothing better in the world than a stale sweet roll.

Day 14: Relationships [with any NPC or other character of your choice]

Coranil: While Coranil is close to the High King, he has also developed a friendship with his son Dolff. That relationship has been strained lately because Dolff is now lovers with Rowan and tends to be jealous. Although he slips now and then, Coranil makes an effort to maintain boundaries with Rowan so as not to distress Dolff.

Kaaley: Although she doesn’t get back to the Guild very often, Kaaley tries to keep in touch as best she can with fellow wood elves Niruin and Syndus, and with Karliah.
