“I’ve got these guys,” Selene told Blanche, sensing a drastic change in her scent. “You take care of her. Mul qah diiv!” She was instantly covered in orange and blue light that took the form of dragon scale armor around her body, and she drew another arrow and waited for the next group to come out of the dorm.
Five of them filed out, and Selene shot the first one as she tried to ignore the urgent, low tone of Blanche’s voice behind her as she poured out a flurry of words. But the scent of the dark-haired woman she spoke to was off, and she wrinkled her brow. “Hey, is she a—what on Nirn is she doing with the Dawnguard?”
Strength is a card of the spiritual over the material, love over hate, the triumph of a higher nature. Someone has the ability to soothe others’ grief or solve their problems. It represents courage, will, quiet inner strength.
Selene and Brynjolf were attacked by a tribe of Foresworn at sunset near a ruined castle only a few miles from the Karthspire. After eliminating their assailants, they camped in the shadow of the castle, and they made it to Sky Haven Temple early the next morning. Delphine and her new recruits were already training in the courtyard. Blades clanged and fighters grunted as they sparred, and Delphine stood off to the side and spouted orders and instructions. She raised an eyebrow when Selene walked up to her.
Selene crouched in the shadows outside Maven’s office, cloaked in invisibility, eavesdropping on a conversation. The businesswoman didn’t realize it, but she was being interrogated. The intent was to bring Selene out of hiding and find out what she knew about Mercer and how much she participated.
“You look tired,” she told Brynjolf as he sat down across from her.
